As an international basketball player, Sue achieved Silver in New
Zealand at the Commonwealth Games and a scholarship in the USA.
At the height of her sports career, she suffered the impact of
accumulative and traumatic injuries caused by a combination of
height (6ft 2”), poor posture when moving and handling and
excessive physical activity.

“After painful back surgery on two occasions to be told – ‘There
is 70% chance you will never walk again’ was devastating” says
Sue.
Sue received excellent rehabilitation, treatment and support and
has since made an impressive recovery. Although unable to pursue her
dream
of taking part in the Olympics, she has coached a National League Basketball
Team in New Zealand and in Children’s Sport’s Clinics.
She then went on to work as a Sports Coach/Leisure Manager in the Community
with responsibility for the Health and Safety of all ages, from children
to older age adults.
A move into the Health & Safety environment
enabled Sue to utilise her professional skills and personal experiences
of a devastating and
debilitating back problem. She recently founded Ergo Active to focus
on the prevention of BACK INJURY in others.

YOUR BACK SAFE FOR LIFE
